Sceats Care Home – About the Home

Sceats Care home

There are 30 rooms at Sceats, making it our largest-capacity care home.

Built in the 1930s, 1 Kenilworth Avenue was originally a residential family home, which was later augmented by and joined to 3 Kenilworth Avenue to form the current care home.  In the 1960s Mr Caleb Sceats donated 3 Kenilworth Avenue to a local Christian group in memory of his wife, and the Sceats Memorial Housing Association was formed.

The home became part of Keychange in 2008, shortly after the completion of a new sun lounge, together with fully-upgraded plumbing and heating systems by the previous owners of the home.

The front garden has well-appointed flower beds, and there are 2 lawns at the rear, together with the home’s own greenhouse which supplies salad vegetables in season.

Sceats is situated on the outskirts of Gloucester city and is in a residential area.  The parish church of St. Catharine’s is an easy 200 metre walk away.
